I don't tend to paint from photographs which means that my imagined landscapes are a combination of memories from different places.
I live on the Sussex coast but have spent lots of time on the Devon and Cornish coast and all of these experiences inform my paintings.
I like the combination of loose brush marks next to sharp graphic shapes (the cliffs in this painting being a good example) and I use a variety of different techniques and brushes to achieve this.
