As an artist, I am interested in the interpretation of the natural world, the way that landscapes change over time and how these changes can be reflected in painting.
In my recent paintings I have focused on the cyclical nature of time, whether it's the shifting seasons, the ebb and flow of the tides, or the gradual erosion of a coastline.
Through the use of colour, light and texture, I aim to convey the sense of movement and transformation that characterises the natural world. By using layers of translucent paint which allow shadows and shapes to be partly revealed, I try to record the ongoing process of change and adaptation that defines the landscape with a sense of what came before.
